KT&G introduces new variety of popular ESSE brandSouth Korean leading cigarette maker KT&G is getting ready to introduce latest varieties of the company’s best-selling ESSE cigarettes. The new versions were named ESSE Black and ESSE Silver. They would be launched this fall at the TFWA World Exhibition, which will be held in Cannes, France in October. According to Kelly Song, KT&G's senior manager and head of international brands, the new varieties will be 84mm in length and ultra slims. The ESSE Silver and Black would join already existing family of ESSE cigarettes numbering 11 varieties, among which are full-flavor, menthol and even bamboo menthol versions. The KT&G's marketing department recently developed an advertisement campaign for the latest varieties, which would appear in magazines and billboards across the world. Mrs. Song said that ESSE Silver and Black slim cigarettes are created by applying the latest technologies, with paying especial attention to the filter technology. The cigarettes are intended for stylish and glamorous young adults aged particularly in the late 20s to late 30s. They would offer a unique, distinctive and very mild taste. Apart from introducing the latest version of top-selling brand at the Exhibition, KT&G will as well hold the annual dinner party for business partners from all corners of the world. The celebration party will be held at the famous Carlton Hotel. The 2009 would be the fourth year of the company at the exhibition and subsequently the fourth year of successful operation in the global tobacco market. ESSE is the best-selling and principal brand for KT&G' in terms of the overseas market, with almost 10 billion sticks sold last year. However, the company plans are rather ambitious. The company’s senior manager declared that they plan to develop more varieties of the leading ESSE brand to satisfy the desires of all groups of smokers. According to reports, in the first half year of 2009, KT&G launched three versions of ESSE, including King-size, super slims and menthol cigarettes. Mrs. Song also added that the company experts have done their best to create a ravishing tobacco formula for ESSE cigarettes and contributed to the growth of popularity of that brand in many markets. However, as there is no limit to perfection, they would keep applying best efforts to expand their product portfolio with premium quality brands. Besides ESSE that showed a better-than-expected performance in Russia, Japan and Latin American countries, the company as well produces such brands like PINE, CIMA, RAISON and ZEST, particularly for domestic consumption. Song mentioned that KT&G's brand had demonstrated an essential growth of sale volumes in Dubai International Airport. So, having had Dubai as the hub for their products, the company now has ambitious plans of conquering European markets. |
