The country with the cleanest air in the world prohibits smokingMoldova, the state in Eastern Europe, has met anti-smoking phenomenon with a list of prohibitions and restrictions. Moldavian government has already presented the list of places where lightening up is prohibited. According to the new law on tobacco and tobacco articles published in the Official Gazette, smoking is forbidden in all education, health, sports institutions and neighboring areas, in public feeding and commercial units, in agricultural and industrial markets, on playing places and in cafes for children, in motor and air public transports, in underground passages, lifts, in places destined to non-smokers, in closed public places, in state institutions, cinemas, theaters, circuses, concert and exhibition halls, museums, libraries, waiting rooms, bus stations, airports, railway stations, in leisure and resting areas. Lightening up of tobacco products is permitted in especially designated areas. Bars, restaurants, discos and similar locales smoking make exception if they have smoking area and non-smoking area. In Moldova any kind of TV and radio advertising of cigarettes and sponsorship from tobacco products and/or companies is prohibited. Government also vetoed selling smoking products to minors less than 18 years. It was banned selling of cheap cigarettes online from cars, trailers, from improvised booths and any similar networks. In Moldova selling of cigs in packs containing less than 20 pieces, from open packs and by piece is restricted. For 2009, government plans to require reducing of noxious substances, as tar in the cigarettes sold on local tobacco market. |
