Smoking donation of thousands for millions

Donations become one of most productive manner of helping and sustaining people. It is used to donate in every sphere of life, but one of tobacco giant decided to contribute to this activity in interesting method.

Important contribution was done by second biggest American tobacco producer R.J. Reynolds under symbol of Doral cigarettes.It wasn’t done without participation of smokers that used namely cigarette products that are manufactured by this tobacco company, more specifically those who used to light up Doral fags.

It is significant to point out that R.J. Reynolds fabricate every three smoking product that are sold on home tobacco market. Among prominent cigarette brands that come from warehouses of this famous tobacco producer are well known Camel, Winston, Kool, Salem and Doral.

Also, smokers that chose fags prepared by R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company constitute half from entire number of American persons that used to light up any cigarettes on line, because, as it was estimated, every five from ten tobacco product that are purchased to Americans are fag products of R.J. Reynolds.

This helping event was called “Seals for Soldiers Fund”. This donating company was realized in following way: every smoker of Doral brand was invited to donate pack seals of Doral cigarettes as proofs of purchase. For all pack was done a donation to Operation Uplink, a VFW program. It was decided that donation would be in money, but in form of phone cards that U.S. soldiers and hospitalized veterans might to call home and so be nearer to their family and friends.

Responses were huge. More that 7,500 Doral smokers donated more that 5 million cigarette pack seals that valuated $502,546.10.Capital of “Seals for Soldiers Fund” that was organized in this year count $502,000, but if estimating for all three years of using this type of promotion total assets was equal to $1.5 million. It is a great support for those brave men and women that are far from home.

Rob Dunham, vice president - Doral brand marketing said: “Doral smokers are among the most caring and patriotic people in the country and they continue to show that with their support through their participation in the Seals for Soldiers Fund promotion”.It is hard not to agree with this affirmance, if also taking into account that this kind of free activity isn’t widely exercise by remaining tobacco companies.

As response to R.J Reynolds donation Kent, VFW Adjutant General expressed:” We applaud R.J. Reynolds' and Doral smokers' continued commitment to those who deserve it most. Their gift to Operation Uplink will provide a tremendous boost to the VFW's efforts to maintain a vital connection between both our military and hospitalized veterans, and their families”.
