"Smoking dinner" was organized at the Savoy.Introducing of smoking ban created many disputes and debates. After July 1 it is illegal to smoke in any public places: bars, restaurants, pubs, parks, etc. Peoples show different reactions for new law. Some agree, some not. From those that disagree are not only smokers, but also proprietors of locals where it was removed smoking. In the end, smoking ban began and everybody must to respect it. Original way of celebrating the last days of “free smoking” organized smokers at the Savoy. This dinner offers to smokers that what they so desire: freedom of smoke. It was arranged a three-course “freedom dinner” where guests can smoke to their hearts' content is being held ahead of the ban. Celebrated on June 25, this dinner was promoted as "one of the last opportunities" for tobacco users to light up at “major public venue”. This dinner was organized by smokers' lobby group Forest and entrance cost was ?95 per person. Although, this event became more significant as it was attended by British celebrity chef and television presenter Worrall Thompson. Thomson was accounted as a “special quest” of the dinner.
