Bulgarian tradition for elementary smoking

As it is known, Bulgaria recently, on 1st of January, 2007, had entered in European Union. In order to attain admission in EU state must to be stable in almost every its spheres: economical, educational, etc.

One of most remarkable factor in economy of Bulgaria is its tobacco sector. And as it was stated from officials, entrance in EU had offered for Bulgaria an exclusive chance to become important tobacco producer. This was stated by Bulgarian official Dimitar Drachev that said:” Bulgaria will continue being an important tobacco producer because of its traditions in the sector and the decreased production in neighboring countries.”

Dimitar Drachev is head of the Plovdiv tobacco and tobacco products Institute and this problem play significant role in “life” of Bulgaria state. He also stated that: “The EU entry changed Bulgaria’s raw tobacco market. The Bulgarian production now has to meet new requirements and a national production quota”.

This new requirements had influenced states economy and successful implementation of traditional sources will result future development of entire Bulgarian wealth.

“Despite the changes, national policies aim to maintain production levels and provide the needed income for all Bulgarians involved in the sector”, said Dimitar Drachev in one of reportage of Focus agency news.

At a future development, affirmation that Dimitar Drachev said was: “The current situation will remain almost unchanged until 2009. Demographic changes within Bulgaria will decrease the number of producers and supply might go down later on. Some regions rely entirely on tobacco, as they lack any alternative income sources. Because of that the reason the production levels in these regions will remain unchanged”.

We wish good luck for another representative of UN, and we hope that tobacco market would feel only increase in quality and not in taxes.
