One fact that should be mentioned is the prevalence of cigarette usage among male smokers. Men that use cigarettes describe themselves as powerful, masculine, practical and attractive.

In a survey that was performed on international level throughout the world, it was found that around one billion men smoke cigarettes.

The smoking rates differ from one country to another, but statistics shows that in developed countries, smokers account for 20-25 percent of male population, while in developing and poor countries, this rate can even reach 50 percent.

According to the figures, the leading places are occupied by Namibia, Russia, Kenya, etc. Then comes Mexico and Ukraine. The Rate of 40 % of adult male smokers is reported in Argentina, South Africa and Venezuela. Germany, Greenland and Brazil have moderate smoking rates, as well as the Unites States of America, Canada, Australia, while the smoking rates in India, Iran, Chad, Columbia and Chile are growing.

The most remarkable smoking rates are registered in China. Since, China is home to the largest number of residents in the world, the number of men who smoke tobacco every day is equivalent to the entire population of United States.

There are 300 millions male cigarette’ smokers. Owning such big number of users of fags it can be stated for sure that China can be ordered with golden smoking medal.

Why do so many people smoke? Maybe it is because cigarette smoking offers people what they need: relaxation, escape from outside problems and pleasurable experience.
